Official VALORANT Tournament Rulebook
1. Introduction
This document contains the official rules and regulations for the QUEST LEVEL UP SERIES VALORANT tournament.
• The tournament is organized by Quest Esports and is designed mainly for amateur and upcoming VALORANT teams in Sri Lanka.
• All players, Team Captains and team representatives must read and understand this rulebook before participating.
• By registering, all teams agree to follow these rules and accept the decisions of tournament organizers, administrators and referees.
• Quest Esports may amend rules, schedules, formats or match procedures when required to protect fairness and tournament integrity.
• Where this rulebook conflicts with the general Quest Esports VALORANT Tournament Rulebook, the rules in this document will take priority.
2. Tournament Eligibility
2.1 Amateur Tournament Eligibility
• The QUEST LEVEL UP SERIES is intended for amateur and upcoming VALORANT teams.
• Sri Lanka’s current Top 2 VALORANT teams are not eligible to participate.
• Tournament organizers may review and reject any roster that does not meet the tournament’s amateur eligibility requirements.
• All eligibility decisions made by the tournament organizers are final.
2.2 Regional Eligibility
• All participating players must be Sri Lankan citizens or residents currently living in Sri Lanka.
• Tournament administrators may request proof of citizenship or residency.
• Failure or refusal to provide requested verification may result in removal from the tournament.
2.3 Restricted Teams and Players
The following teams and players are restricted because they are currently recognized as Sri Lanka’s Top 2 VALORANT teams.

• Insane
• Toxii
• Russel
• Gearz
Team Chromnz
• Chromnz
• Zing
• Hasi
• Kapumba
• Kucf
• BenJ
• Restricted players may not participate under another team name, alternate Riot ID or substitute account.
• Any team attempting to register a restricted player using false or misleading information may be rejected or disqualified.
2.4 Official Account Requirement
• All players must register and compete using their own valid Riot ID.
• Account sharing, smurfing, impersonation, false registration information and identity misrepresentation are prohibited.
• Quest Esports may request identity verification through a NIC, passport, student ID or equivalent document before, during or after a match.
• Failure or refusal to comply may result in immediate disqualification.
2.5 Team Identity Standards
• Team names, player names, Riot IDs, logos and profile images must not contain offensive, obscene, hateful, discriminatory or inappropriate content.
• Tournament administrators may request changes or apply penalties where necessary.
3. Registration
3.1 Registration Process
• Registration will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
• A maximum of 10 teams will be accepted.
• Submitting the registration form does not automatically confirm a slot.
• A team is confirmed only after the registration form, payment, payment slip and roster have been reviewed and approved.
3.2 Registration Status
Registrations may be shown as:
• Pending Verification
• Confirmed
• Rejected
• Waiting List
• Only teams with Confirmed status will be added to the final tournament list and bracket.
3.3 Registration Deadline
• Teams must complete registration and payment before the announced deadline.
• Incomplete or unpaid registrations may lose their slot.
• Unconfirmed slots may be offered to teams on the waiting list.
3.4 Registration Information
Teams must provide accurate information, including:
• Team name
• Team Captain’s name
• Player names
• Riot IDs
• Discord usernames
• Contact numbers
• Email addresses
• Substitute details, where applicable
• Incorrect, incomplete or misleading information may result in rejection or disqualification.
4. Payment Information
• Official payment instructions will be provided through the approved Quest Esports registration or communication channels.
• Teams must use only the payment information officially provided by the tournament organizers.
• Quest Esports will not be responsible for payments made using unofficial, outdated or incorrect information.
5. Payment Slip Verification
5.1 Payment Slip Requirement
Teams must upload a clear payment slip showing:
• Payment amount
• Transaction date
• Receiving account
• Transaction or reference number
• Sender name, where available
5.2 Verification Status
• Registration remains Pending Verification until payment is reviewed and approved.
• Teams without verified payment will not be added to the final bracket.
5.3 Invalid Payment Slips
A registration may be rejected if the slip is:
• Invalid
• Edited or manipulated
• Duplicated
• Unclear or unreadable
• For an incorrect amount
• Linked to an unsuccessful transaction
• Previously used for another registration
• Fraudulent payment evidence may result in the team and its players being banned from future Quest Esports tournaments.
6. Team Composition
6.1 Team Roster
• Each team must register 5 starting players.
• Teams may register up to 2 substitutes.
• The official roster may therefore include 5 starting players and up to 2 substitutes.
6.2 One-Team Rule
• A player may represent only one team during the tournament.
• A player may not be registered as a starting player or substitute for multiple teams.
6.3 Stand-Ins
• Players who are not included in the approved roster are considered stand-ins.
• Stand-ins are not permitted unless specifically approved by tournament administrators under exceptional circumstances.
6.4 Roster Lock
• Rosters become locked when registration closes.
• Changes after the deadline require tournament administrator approval.
• Exceptional requests may be considered for medical emergencies, serious personal emergencies or situations outside the team’s reasonable control.
• All roster change requests must be submitted by the registered Team Captain.
6.5 Substitutions
• Substitutions are allowed only between maps.
• Substitutions are not allowed during an active round or map.
• The referee or tournament administrator must be informed before a substitution.
• The substitute must already be part of the approved roster.
7. Tournament Format
7.1 Tournament Structure
The tournament format may include:
• Single elimination
• Double elimination
• Group stage
• Playoffs
• Best-of-One matches
• Best-of-Three matches
• Best-of-Five matches
• The final format will be announced before the tournament begins.
• Organizers may adjust the format based on confirmed teams, available time or venue conditions.
7.2 LAN Format
• All matches will be played on LAN at the officially announced venue.
• Players must use equipment, networks and tournament setups approved by the organizers.
• All teams must follow venue and event staff instructions.
7.3 Match Schedule
• The official schedule will be announced by the tournament organizers.
• Teams must regularly check official channels for match dates, reporting times, bracket updates, venue instructions and schedule changes.
• Organizers may change match times where necessary.
8. Venue Reporting and Check-In
8.1 Reporting Time
• All registered players participating in the match must be present at the venue at least 30 minutes before their scheduled match time, unless another reporting time is officially announced.
• Teams must complete player check-in and equipment setup during this period.
• A player arriving less than 30 minutes before the scheduled match time may be considered late and may be subject to penalties determined by the tournament administrators.
8.2 Late Arrival
• A team that is not ready within 10 minutes of its scheduled match time may forfeit the match.
• Possible penalties include a warning, loss of map choice, loss of side choice, map forfeiture, match forfeiture or disqualification.
• Teams must immediately inform tournament administrators if they expect to be late.
• Informing an administrator does not guarantee that a penalty will be removed.
8.3 Player Check-In
Players may be required to confirm:
• Identity
• Riot ID
• Team roster
• Equipment readiness
• Attendance
• Registration details
• Only approved players may enter the match area or use tournament stations.
9. Match Lobby and Game Settings
Unless otherwise announced:
• Mode: Tournament
• Cheats: Off
• Overtime: Win by Two
• Lobby: Closed
• Map Pool: Tournament-approved
• Game Version: Tournament-approved
Only the following individuals may enter or observe the lobby:
• Registered players
• Tournament administrators
• Referees
• Official observers
• Official casters
• Approved production staff
• Unauthorized spectators are not permitted.
• Tournament administrators will determine the approved LAN server, network and match configuration.
• Once a match has started, the server or network configuration may not be changed without administrator approval.
10. Pre-Match Ban Process
10.1 First-to-5 Skirmish
• Before every official match, both teams will play a First-to-5 skirmish on the map announced by tournament administrators.
• The skirmish is used only to determine Team A and Team B.
10.2 Team A and Team B Selection
• The skirmish winner may choose Team A or Team B.
• The losing team receives the remaining designation.
10.3 Map Ban and Veto Process
• After Team A and Team B are determined, the official map veto will begin according to the match format.
• The skirmish does not count as an official tournament map and does not affect the match score.
11. Map Veto System
11.1 Best-of-One (B01)
• Team A bans 1 map.
• Team B bans 1 map.
• Team A bans 1 map.
• Team B bans 1 map.
• Team A bans 1 map.
• Team B bans 1 map.
• The remaining map will be played.
• Team A chooses the starting side.
11.2 Best-of-Three (B03)
• Team A bans 1 map.
• Team B bans 1 map.
• Team A selects Map 1; Team B chooses the starting side.
• Team B selects Map 2; Team A chooses the starting side.
• Team A bans 1 map.
• Team B bans 1 map.
• The remaining map becomes Map 3; Team A chooses the starting side.
11.3 Best-of-Five (B05)
• Team A bans 1 map.
• Team B bans 1 map.
• Team A selects Map 1; Team B chooses the starting side.
• Team B selects Map 2; Team A chooses the starting side.
• Team A selects Map 3; Team B chooses the starting side.
• Team B selects Map 4; Team A chooses the starting side.
• The remaining map becomes Map 5; Team B chooses the starting side.
11.4 Veto Administration
• All veto decisions must be clearly communicated to the referee or administrator.
• A confirmed ban, selection or side choice cannot be changed without administrator approval.
• Teams that unnecessarily delay the veto may receive penalties.
12. Maps and Agents
12.1 Map Pool
• The tournament will follow Riot Games’ official seasonal VALORANT competitive map pool unless otherwise announced.
12.2 New Maps
• New maps will normally remain unavailable for 4 weeks after release.
• Organizers may shorten or extend this period based on Riot Games updates or tournament requirements.
12.3 New Agents
• New agents will normally remain unavailable for 2 weeks after release.
• Organizers may shorten or extend this period where required.
12.4 Disabled Content
• Any map, agent, weapon, ability or game feature disabled by Riot Games or tournament administrators may not be used.
13. Gameplay Rules
13.1 Competitive Integrity
The following are prohibited:
• Hacking
• Scripting
• Macros
• Third-party cheats
• Unauthorized software
• Bug exploitation
• Account sharing
• Smurfing
• Impersonation
• Ghosting
• Stream sniping
• Match-fixing
• Collusion
• Bribery
• Intentional match manipulation
• Providing false information to tournament staff
• Violations may result in immediate disqualification or bans from future Quest Esports tournaments.
13.2 Bug Exploitation
• Players must not intentionally use bugs, glitches or unintended mechanics for an unfair advantage.
• Suspected bugs must be reported to the referee immediately.
• Administrators may allow the round to continue, order a replay, apply a penalty, restart the map or allow the result to stand.
13.3 Match-Fixing
• Intentionally losing, arranging a result, manipulating a score, bribery and collusion are prohibited.
• Serious violations may result in a permanent ban from Quest Esports events.
14. Pauses and Timeouts
14.1 Tactical Timeouts
• Each team is allowed 2 tactical timeouts per map.
• Each tactical timeout lasts up to 60 seconds.
• Each team may receive 1 additional tactical timeout during overtime.
• Tactical timeouts must be initiated through the in-game feature or approved by the referee.
14.2 Technical Pauses
A technical pause may be requested only for a genuine technical issue, including:
• Hardware failure
• Peripheral failure
• Game crash or freeze
• Network or server issue
• Audio or communication issue
• Power interruption
• Player disconnection
• Venue-related technical issue
• The affected team must immediately explain the reason to the referee.
• Technical pauses must not be used to delay the match or gain an unfair advantage.
14.3 Technical Pause Duration
• Technical pauses may last up to 10 minutes per map unless extended by the Head Referee or Tournament Administrator.
• If the issue cannot be resolved, officials may resume the match, replace equipment, replay a round, restart a map, issue a forfeiture or apply another fair solution.
14.4 Communication During Technical Pauses
During a technical pause:
• Players must remain at their stations unless instructed otherwise.
• Players must follow referee instructions.
• Tactical discussion may be prohibited by the referee.
• Players must not communicate with spectators or individuals outside the approved roster.
• Mobile phones or other communication devices may not be used without authorization.
14.5 Abuse of Pauses
The following are prohibited:
• Repeated unnecessary pause requests
• False technical issue claims
• Deliberate equipment disconnection
• Intentional match delays
• Abuse may result in a warning, round penalty, loss of side selection, map forfeiture, match forfeiture or disqualification.
14.6 Referee Authority
• Referees and tournament administrators may approve, reject, extend or end any pause.
• All pause-related decisions are final.
15. Crashes, Disconnections and Technical Issues
15.1 Early-Round Crash
• If a player crashes or disconnects before meaningful damage, engagement or significant gameplay, administrators may order a round replay.
15.2 Crash After Significant Gameplay
• If the issue occurs after significant gameplay, the round may continue.
• The referee will determine whether a replay is appropriate.
15.3 Map Restart or Replay
• An entire map may be restarted or replayed only at the discretion of tournament administrators.
• A replay request does not guarantee that a replay will be granted.
15.4 Hardware and Equipment
• Players must check their equipment before the match.
• Organizers may assist with technical issues but cannot guarantee that all personal equipment problems will be resolved.
• Administrators may require players to use approved replacement equipment.
16. Match Forfeiture
A team may forfeit a map or match due to:
• Failure to report on time
• Insufficient eligible players
• Use of an unregistered player
• Refusal to follow referee instructions
• Leaving the venue without permission
• Serious misconduct
• Cheating or unfair play
• Repeated technical delays caused by negligence
• Failure to complete check-in
• A match may be played 4v5 only if tournament administrators approve.
17. Code of Conduct
17.1 Player Behaviour
Players must behave respectfully toward:
• Opponents
• Teammates
• Referees
• Tournament administrators
• Venue staff
• Casters
• Spectators
• Sponsors
• Event partners
17.2 Prohibited Conduct
The following are prohibited:
• Toxicity
• Harassment
• Threats
• Discrimination
• Hate speech
• Abusive language
• Unsportsmanlike behaviour
• Deliberate provocation
• Physical intimidation
• Property damage
• Match disruption
• Refusal to follow staff instructions
17.3 Public Conduct
• Players and teams must not publish false, abusive or threatening statements about staff, opponents or event partners.
• Legitimate complaints must be submitted through the official process.
17.4 Penalties
Possible penalties include:
• Verbal warning
• Official warning
• Loss of side selection
• Loss of map selection
• Round penalty
• Map forfeiture
• Match forfeiture
• Player removal
• Team disqualification
• Prize removal
• Temporary suspension
• Permanent tournament ban
18. Staff and Organizer Participation
Quest Esports organizers, staff members, administrators and community members may participate as players if they meet the eligibility requirements.
However:
• They may not referee or administer their own matches.
• They may not make rulings concerning their own team.
• Their matches must be handled by another authorized tournament official.
• They must not access confidential bracket, veto or opponent information.
19. Player Account Update Procedure
19.1 Official Update Process
To update or correct registered player details, the Team Captain must follow the official process below.

• An additional referee contact number may be provided when required.
19.2 Required Information
Each request must include:
• Tournament name
• Team name
• Player name
• Current Riot ID
• Corrected Riot ID or player details
• Discord username
• Details of the requested correction
19.3 Update Deadline
• Player detail corrections and roster updates must be submitted before registration closes.
• After registration closes, changes will be considered only under exceptional circumstances and require administrator approval.
• No changes will be accepted after a player or team has started an official match unless an exception is approved.
• Requests from an unregistered email address, a person other than the registered Team Captain or without the mandatory WhatsApp message may be rejected.
20. Tournament Communication
Official communication channels may include:
• Discord
• WhatsApp
• Email
• Official tournament website
• Official social media pages
• The Team Captain is responsible for sharing announcements with all team members.
• Failure to check an official announcement will not normally be accepted as a reason for missing a match or requirement.
21. Administrator Authority
Tournament administrators may:
• Pause a match
• Restart a round
• Restart a map
• Order a replay
• Adjust the schedule
• Adjust the tournament format
• Issue penalties
• Remove a player
• Disqualify a team
• Correct bracket errors
• Investigate allegations
• Request identification or evidence
• Make rulings on situations not directly covered by this rulebook
• Players and teams must cooperate fully with official investigations and reasonable staff requests.
• Decisions are final unless an official appeal is accepted.
22. Complaints and Appeals
22.1 Submitting a Complaint
Complaints must be submitted by the registered Team Captain or authorized team representative and include:
• Team name
• Match details
• Players involved
• Description of the incident
• Screenshots, recordings or other evidence
• Requested review
22.2 Match Complaints
• Match complaints must be raised immediately after the match or before the next bracket round begins, unless another deadline is announced.
• Late complaints may be rejected if reviewing them would unfairly affect other teams.
22.3 False Complaints
• Knowingly false, misleading or malicious complaints may result in penalties.
23. Prize Distribution
• Prize distribution timelines and requirements will be announced for the event.
• Unless otherwise announced, prize money will be transferred to the registered Team Captain.
• The Team Captain must provide valid bank details within day of the tournament.
• Prize money will normally be distributed within 7 working days after all required information is received.
• Investigations may delay payment.
• Teams disqualified for serious violations may lose part or all of their prize entitlement.
• Organizers are not responsible for internal prize distribution disputes.
24. Media and Event Content
• Players may be photographed, recorded or featured in broadcasts, livestreams, interviews, highlights and promotional content.
• By participating, players allow Quest Esports and its official partners to use tournament-related names, images, recordings and match footage for promotion and reporting.
• Players must cooperate with reasonable media and production requirements.
25. Venue Rules
Players must not:
• Damage venue property
• Tamper with tournament equipment
• Enter restricted areas
• Interfere with production equipment
• Disturb other matches
• Bring prohibited items into the venue
• Create a safety risk
• Teams may be held responsible for damage caused by their players or representatives.
• Serious misconduct may result in removal and disqualification.
26. Rule Interpretation
• Tournament administrators will decide situations not directly covered in this rulebook.
• Decisions will consider competitive fairness, VALORANT standards, tournament integrity, player safety, venue requirements and the circumstances of the incident.
• The absence of a specific rule does not prevent administrators from taking reasonable action.
27. Acceptance of Rules
By registering, every team, player and substitute confirms that they:
• Have read and understood the rulebook.
• Agree to follow all tournament procedures.
• Accept the eligibility requirements.
• Accept the payment and registration conditions.
• Accept the decisions of organizers, administrators and referees.
• Understand that violations may result in penalties or disqualification.
• Quest Esports may update the rulebook before or during the event when necessary.
• Official updates will be communicated through approved tournament channels.
